Welcome to Portal Card Scanner. Your privacy is fundamental to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our card identification services, including both the current version and future features planned for Version 2.0.

1. Data We Collect and Purposes

Card Images: When you scan a card (Pokémon, One Piece, and — in Version 2.0 — Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Football cards), the image is sent to our systems. We use Artificial Intelligence exclusively to identify the card model and provide you with real-time market prices.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous data on the most used features to improve the accuracy of our recognition algorithm.

Device Identifiers: Used by advertising partners (Google AdMob) to display relevant ads.

2. Data Retention

We are proponents of "Data Minimization":

Images: We do not permanently store your images. Once identification is complete, the image is deleted from our temporary servers.
Statistical Data: Anonymized data on scan accuracy may be retained to train our computer vision models.

3. Third-Party Services and Affiliations

Advertising: We use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use personal data (such as device advertising ID) to personalize ads.

Existing Affiliate Links: The app contains links to TCGPlayer, Amazon, and eBay. If you purchase through these links, we may receive a commission. This does not incur additional costs for you, and we do not share your personal data with these vendors.

🆕 Version 2.0 — Sports Accessories Affiliate Programme:
In Version 2.0, the Football Card mode will include links to sports accessories from partner brands including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Decathlon, New Balance, and others via the Awin affiliate network. When you tap "Buy Sports Accessories" after scanning a Football card, you may be redirected to partner stores. If you make a purchase through these links, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not share your personal data with these retailers beyond what is standard for affiliate link tracking (anonymised click data).

All affiliate relationships are disclosed transparently within the app and on this page.

4. Security

We adopt standard encryption protocols to protect data during transfer between your device and our servers. However, remember that no internet transmission system is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing activities
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
